Where to get flamenco shoes

To get the most from your flamenco experience, we highly recommend a pair of good quality flamenco shoes. These can be purchased from a variety of sources:

    • Online

      • Tamara Flamenco - you can get a semi-professional shoe for 50 Euros, but with the quality of a professional shoe for 110-130 Euros, it's often worth it to spring for a better shoe.

    • Locally through Espacio de Arte, a non-profit organization dedicated to flamenco events in the Seattle area. There is a box of new shoes that are priced from $20 to $150 that are at a studio in Factoria. Contact Eve or Jackie to arrange a time to see the shoes on Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons

    • Through the local community. A few groups that are helpful are the Seattle Flamenco Community and the Vancouver Flamenco Costume Buy & Sellon Facebook, introduce yourself to the group and inquire if someone has shoes in your size

A few of our favorite brands:

    • Begona Cervera (you can get a good pair starting at 110 Euros)

    • Gallardo

    • Arte Fyl

    • La Lupi

    • Senovilla (these often run around $250)

Expect to pay 100 to 150 Euros for a pair of good quality flamenco shoes. When you are ordering them online they are often made to order and can take up to 2 months to arrive.

'Sevillanas' Series

w/ Dani Serrano

Fridays, September 13th - October 4th

5:00-6:30pm

Come join us for a 4-week Sevillanas workshop! Some prior flamenco dance experience will be helpful in order to take this series. Please email us with questions regarding your prior dance experience to find out if this class might be a good fit for you.

Hailing from Seville in Andalucia, this lively and elegant dance is one of the only chances in flamenco when you get to dance with a partner. It's a great dance to have in your tool belt, you'll have the chance to dance at small shows and partis. This 4 week series will focus on the first copla, or verse, of Sevillanas. We will learn the footwork, incorporate the arms and then pair up to dance together. This will give you a taste of what Sevillanas looks like when danced with a partner! https://youtu.be/v_3EiFA37Zw
