Nia is a sensory-based, body-centered, mindful movement, fitness and wellness practice that combines DANCE (Jazz, Modern, Duncan), MARTIAL ARTS (Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi) and HEALING ARTS (Yoga, Feldenkrais Method, Alexander Technique) to create a holistic movement practice that leads to improved health and well being on all levels.
Nia is a comprehensive conditioning, cardio-fitness journey that engages the whole body and empowers people of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels. It is like cross-training for the body, mind and spirit!
Nia is adaptable and unique as each person has permission to move in YOUR BODY's Way. We will sweat and smile while exploring flexibility, agility, mobility, stability and strength, and improving balance, coordination, cardio fitness, conditioning and neuroplasticity in a safe, nourishing, and joyful environment. Set to soul-stirring music, after practicing Nia, we will step out feeling energized, balanced and ready to engage the day!

What to wear
We recommend clothes that allow you to move that you aren't afraid to sweat in. Nia is usually danced barefoot, but can also be practiced in jazz shoes or CLEAN athletic shoes.
