We are excited to have you join us for our 2026-2027 performance season! Applications open July 20, 2026 and close on August 21, 2026. We will announce who is in performance groups the last week in August.
Important: We do not hold formal auditions. In order to be accepted in to a group, you must regularly take classes at the studio during the month of August to be evaluated.
What are performance groups?
Performance groups are made of studio dancers who wish to be a part of a deeper community, learn complete dances, and perform with their company. Dancers meet with their company chorographer weekly and learn approximately three routines for our annual showcase in June. The exception to this would be ballet groups which meet every other week and will each learn 2 dances, and Steven's beginner tap group which will learn 2 dances and meet each week between October and June.
In addition to performing in our show, our dancers will have a couple more opportunities to perform. We will hold a holiday party at our studio on Thursday, December 17th, and most performance groups will have an opportunity to perform their first routine at the studio. We also perform at the WA State (Spring) Fair in mid-April. We will ask for a Saturday performance slot, but this is not guaranteed.
We offer groups in tap dance, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, and contemporary. The level of dance experience needed to join our groups depends on the year and how much demand we have for each performance group.
Requirements:
Attend 4-5 classes each month similar to the style in which you will perform.
5 class autopay membership held from September-June (10 months) for each group you are in. (Examples - If you are in one group, you hold a 5 classes membership. If you are in Tap and Ballet groups, then you would hold a 10 classes membership so that you can attend tap and ballet classes) The exception to this is when someone joins lyrical and contemporary groups. Those two groups styles are so close to one another that we only require one 5 classes membership when joining those two groups.
Dancers may be in (2) groups max.
Dancers may miss a maximum of 7 rehearsal absences between Sept-June.
For class attendance requirements:
Ballet dancers may attend lyrical, jazz, contemporary or ballet classes.
Hip Hop dancers may attend hip hop, Pop Culture Choreo or K-pop classes.
Tap Dance dancers must attend tap dance classes.
Contemporary dancers may attend lyrical, jazz or contemporary classes.
Lyrical dancers may attend lyrical, jazz, ballet, or contemporary classes.
